Trakehner horse: an "East Prussian Warmblood of Trakehner origin".
The Canadian Trakehner Horse Society is the only society authorized by the Minister of Agriculture of Canada under the Animal Pedigree Act that may register Trakehner horses in Canada.
The purpose of the CTHS is to establish, maintain and operate a society of breeders, owners, and friends for the promotion and preservation of the warmblooded horse of Trakehner origin in Canada. As well. The CTHS must maintain a public registry under the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation of Trakehner horses. The CTHS will also mark or brand approved stallions, mares and foal as well as disseminate information to breeders, owners, and friends pertaining to the breeding and raising of Trakehner horses.
And finally, it falls to the CTHS to promote the performance of the Trakehner horses in dressage, three-day eventing, driving, hunting and jumping and generally encourage a public understanding of the Trakehner horse, its breeding, and performance.
